The New Orleans Hornets had busy drafting season hoping to make it to the playoffs. The Hornets has never won any NBA championship ever but they were never short of talent. the Hornets selected Hilton Armstrong and Cedric Simmons in the first round of the 2006 NBA Draft.

Founded in 1988, New Orleans Hornets did moderately well in their first few seasons. Kendall Gill won  the 1992 NBA Rookie of the Year Award with over 20 points per game.NBA season 1997-98 went on  successfully for the Hornets. In 2002-03 the Hornets qualified for the playoffs for the fourth consecutive year, but lost to Philadelphia. Following  season Hornets finished 41-41 and played the Miami Heat in the playoffs.Season 2005,  Byron Scott replaced as the head coach.

The Hornets started off the 2005-2006 moderately well  but did not make the playoffs. the Hornets posted 38-44 score and ranked 10th place in the Western Conference.Though the hornets never made to the NBA finals but they were decent throughout.

Chris Paul was named as  NBA Rookie of the Year and during 2006 NBA Draft,  the Hornets picked  Hilton Armstrong ,Cedric Simmons and Marcus Vinicius.The Hornets are hoping to advance  to the Western Conference postseason for the first time ever.
