Based in Miami Florida, the Miami Marlins are in National League Eastern Division. The Marlins came into existence in 1993 and went on winning two World Series in a decade. The Miami Marlins performed well in 1996 season but could not post a winning season as they winded the season at 80-82 record but managed to rank in third position in their division. The first ever winning season was 1997; the Marlins recorded 92 – 70 win – loss score.

Season 1997 was remarkable for the Marlins, they defeated the Atlanta Braves in the National League Championship Series and advanced to the World Series to face the Cleveland Indians. This time the Marlins were unstoppable, they beat the Indians and clinched the Baseball World Championship. The season following the championship title, the Marlins stumbled like the palace of cards. The defending champions posted 54 – 108 , win – loss record. From 2000 through 2002, the Marlins consecutively put up three 75+ win seasons. In 2002, Jeff Torborg replaced Tony Perez as the Marlins' manager. Torborg put up a 79-83 record in his first season with the team. The Marlins continued to struggle as they could not manage a winning season until 2003. The Miami Marlins finished the 2003 season with 91 – 71, win – loss record not only this , The Marlins once again claim the World Series in 2003.
