Based in Boston, Massachusetts, the Boston Bruins were founded in 1924 and they play in the Northeast Division of the Eastern Conference. Just three seasons old, the Bruins clinched the Stanley Cup final berth but could not win the title. The Bruins again reached the Stanley Cup finals after two seasons and this time they defeated the New York Rangers to claim their first Stanley Cup. The Boston Bruins remained good throughout the 1930’s decade and claimed their second Stanley Cup in 1938 – 39 against the Maple Leafs.

NHL season 1940-41, the Boston Bruins won their third NHL championship title; the team success was backed up by the phenomenal performances by Cowley, the Krauts, and Brimsek under the leadership of newly appointed coach Weiland.  For the next few seasons the team’s performance was moderate with few glimpse of success like reaching the Championship finals in the seasons 1953, 1057 and 1958.
